  We always go to this church when we are here visiting my son and family because it's the church that they go to and we enjoy going. James River Church is a very friendly church, with good praise and worship, good messages and outreaches.

  This church may look big from the outside but just step in and feel the love. Teaching from the Bible directly, Pastor John leads the church attendees in an easy to understand, welcoming manner. Folks coming in to listen seldom leave without returning and making JRC their church home.

  This church has given us a place to call home. My husband was saved here, my children baptized. It is a large church that is easy to plug into to make it personal. Expository preaching, and a strong presence of God. We are heavily involved in missions and our community and welcome EVERYONE!

  The friendliest and most loving church I've ever attended. The teaching is clear, practical, insightful and without compromise. Hard Bible passages are not avoided but given in a way to deliver you and not beat you up. The altar calls are NOT a walk of shame but rather a walk of fame. They will celebrate and embrace your repentance and help you to walk the walk. A great place of encouragement for the whole family.

  A vibrant church with a lot of opportunities to get engaged. If you are moving to the area and have kids and wonder how they'll acclimate, here's a story: My son was 2 when we got here. He had never lasted more than 10 minutes in any nursery. Other churches give up, call you, then you're stuck with your wiggly kid in a service. Here, however, they have a plan to acclimate your kid and integrate him into class. 3 weeks later, my kid was excited about going to the nursery for the first time EVER! For me, my kids liking church is very important. They do it right!
